Even though I started all this electric car business in 2002, I don't feel sorry for the failures. I had a bone to pick with GM for not paying me for my car designs I sent them in high school. 1993 I came up with a plan to use Lotus Elise with electric motor to start the worlds 1st electric sports car company. 2002 I sent my plan to investors. 2003 electric car companies started popping up on the internet. I study the industry so, I know there weren't anything like it before 2002. It's been a decade and I still haven't gotten any investors. I refuse to give up on my childhood dream of starting the best car company in the world. No one on this list has done it right. Money is the reason I haven't gotten started. It's a shame because the world will never see how great electric cars can be.

You're right , people is looking for good looking electric cars, not toys. This kind of electric cars will have small market . The standard brands ( honda, nissan, toyota , general motors... ) will control the electric market . The small companies have too much to do it in design and appearance to compete.

The Fastest Growing Industry on Earth as Archimedes would say the least, EUREKA it is exceedingly colossal.

The day is coming that most all on Earth will use Solar Energy. Most will have PV Solar Panels on their roofs. The Free Energy from the Sun will be used to Make Electric.
The surplus of Electric not used will then be used to split water into Hydrogen. The Hydrogen will be put into a tank like most farmer and people living out of town already have. This Hydrogen will power their stove to cook, car to drive and power generator to use as electric at night.

Very soon the need for the Power Grid will be gone for most. As the great need for Oil will no longer be needed.

There were 200 electric taxi cabs in New York City way before 200 gas Taxi cabs came into being there. Thomas Edison’s Interest in Renewable Energy is no big surprise, for it was his friend Albert Einstein that dreamed this dream that the day will come that All On Earth Would Use Solar Energy for the GOOD OF ALL.

I don't understand why these individuals and many more like them aren't doing this and selling them to the general public. I'll bet if you parked say a used, converted Chevy Cavalier on the street or in a parking lot with a sign on it saying "For Sale, Electric Car Conversion," it would create tremendous attention and quite a few sales. I can see used car lots full of converted cars.

They also have electric car conversion kits now, where you can take an ordinary scrap car and turn it into an electric one. Just wish they had something similar for mini choppers.
