I think there have been many changes, especially given the global financial crisis and the outrage of the 99%, that have changed the way social investing and trading is done.

Re: A survey of social investing sites: 11 contenders

I don't think it works well..

Re: A survey of social investing sites: 11 contenders

I tried out a socially responsible investing website the other day focused on social responsibility that gave me the ability to check whether my mutual funds held any companies that didn't reflect my values. I screened for environmentally harmful companies, companies engaged in the tobacco industry and companies involved in the Sudan. But I think they had another 10-20 screens. It was free. They just advertised to me. I love these guys!

Re: A survey of social investing sites: 11 contenders

I like to get my investing information from obscure sources.

Re: A survey of social investing sites: 11 contenders

There's a movement to radically change California government, by getting rid of career politicians and chopping their salaries in half. I have been using macroaxis.com for the last 3 months and event thought they are also in early beta, I could get some real leverage from them to be able to reduce market risk of my portfolios. The problem is that you can only see the results of diversification when it bubbles - performance following will not protect you from the big one. Or am I wrong?

Re: A survey of social investing sites: 11 contenders

Great list of companies with completely different business models in this increasingly crowded space.
