VentureBeat: Ad network Glam sees record 4th quarter, puts entire workforce on “variable” pay

With all the bad news about the economy and layoffs, it is good hear some positive things. Sounds like a few companies like Google, Glam, MySpace, eBay and Amazon are doing ok, even in a downturn.

Stepping up to avoid layoffs is a very humane thing for Glam to do, and putting all employees on revenue is very clever in a down economy. With all the bailouts and CEO payouts that makes us all sick, their management is doing the right thing. Hope Obama will bring changes like this for all of us. More companies should step up and do actions like these.

They're lying. I've never seen a bigger bunch of self promoters in my life. I'd love to see their numbers.

    jason,

Get a life. This is serious company with major investors and management that has run public companies before, done IPO's, built and sold companies, that are funded by top VC's in Silicon Valley.

Telling all employees that they are surprised that the quarter is not bad and sales is good is very serious. Glam is the only network that makes money for good publishers today. AdSense pays for coffee occasionally as we most are not domain sites of links by web masters and have real content, Google for Content pays nothing, affiliate ads work rarely, and Yahoo's Overture is almost gone. They are doing something right, go see the list of their ads on AlleyInsider. Numbers follow ads. They seem to have won the brands.
