VentureBeat: Can Facebook stand tall against Big Brother?”

Not just track down the bad guys, but also republicans, democrats, independents, evangelicals, pagans, teamsters, masons, bikers, bridge clubs, gun owners, PTAs, pacifists, jazz lovers, book clubs, etc, etc, etc. Social network analysis [SNA] can find the critical links/nodes to remove/disable in any group someone may want to disrupt.

There are NO leaderless organizations! Every group/community/organization has emergent leaders [may not be formally recognized/designated] and social network analysis [SNA] can point them out easily. We have been helping businesses find and develop emergent leaders for 20 years using SNA.

Look at our web site [http://www.orgnet.com] for positive work done with SNA. But in the wrong hands SNA software can be dangerous. There have already been reports of drug cartels using SNA with phone data to discover and eliminate "snitches". How soon before your Precinct captain knows who your buds are and what side your politics are on? Imagine gerrymandering 2.0 with SNA data!
