500m for xensource. A 19 billion market cap for vmware, what's going on and where do i signup?

Take a look at our virtualization management system, http://www.enomalism.com - 4000 beta user and marquee customers include Bridgestone Tires and France Telecom. We'd sell for a lot less then 500m.

Interesting - talked with Xen a couple years ago when they were still holed up in a VC office in downtown Palo Alto. Back then was not optimistic they had a compelling story - technical or businesswise - relative to VMWare. Since then the open source community has gone a different direction, and Xen has a big dependency on that so that is going to make things much more difficult for them. Really amazing that this "Academic Exercise" (vs. business) justified that valuation. Maybe we're in a virtualization bubble? Of course its not what the seller (or Interested Observer) thinks the asset is worth, but what the buyer is willing to pay.

XenSource it the combination to perfect market timing (vmware Ipo, competitive dynamics, etc...), execution by a talented team and savvy financial investors. Kudos to all who were involved.
