Back then was not optimistic they had a compelling story - technical or businesswise - relative to VMWare. Since then the open source community has gone a different direction, and Xen has a big dependency on that so that is going to make things much more difficult for them. Really amazing that this "Academic Exercise" (vs. business) justified that valuation. Maybe we're in a virtualization bubble?
