They were the leaders of innovation just a couple of years ago (okay maybe Handspring was) so maybe some new board members can help it back to the old focus. Probably needs a big shakeup to leadership tho. RIM has recently made a successful inroad into the consumer space with the Pearl. Apple, despite the hype, has yet to make a splash in the smart phone market. If (maybe when) Apple does make a splash, the road to overcome RIM, as well as other Symbian based smart phones will challenging given integration with the PC which still accounts for more than 90% of the worlds computer usage. The same can be said of smart phones with Windows Mobile.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Yes, it is true that Apple is a marketing power, but let's not overlook the fact that Apple NEVER reached market supremacy for personal productivity.
