VentureBeat: Evernote wants to be your “outside brain”

It's about time. I was a heavy EverNote user from late 2005 or so until earlier this year, when the fact that it was fenced off from desktop search and the Web led me to drop it. I'm anxious to see the new version and see how it performs.

I'm also a heavy EverNote user. Just to let you know, the most recent version now has a plug-in for Google Desktop Search. Also, there are workarounds to keep databases synced across PC's through the web. I haven't had the need to do this, so I don't know the details. But I understand it uses FolderShare and the built in synchronization features of EverNote. My big gripe with them has been the lack of a mobile version. They've promised it for a long time but haven't delivered it yet. Hopefully this new funding and focus will speed up development. However, all that said, I still feel EverNote is a "killer app", that I find myself using more and more every day.
