    The redesign hasn't done much for user experience (what qualifies as a news feed?), as you could previously "hide" updates from applications to avoid inundation. Facebook's move, as suggested in the article, is more about forcing application developers to rely on Facebook's paid promotion alternatives. Can't blame them for wanting a piece of social gaming's astounding success, but a much smarter way to achieve this would have been to introduce a Facebook micro-payments platform rather than limit game developer's ability to succeed.
