Not sure I agree with that you still need to see your physicians and specialists to maintain proper health.

Todd
www.doctordelraybeach.com

Re: Fresh from Health 2.0: two dozen of the most innovative new health apps

A key factor to facilitate tracking for those who are not eager adopters is making the tools for data capture far more intuitive so that individuals capture data in a manner that is second nature. Once data can be captured in this manner, the consistency of the data is far higher and the number of distortions in data that might otherwise occur can be reduced significantly.

Re: Fresh from Health 2.0: two dozen of the most innovative new health apps

I use both Posit Science brain fitness games. They are the InSight and Brain Fitness Program Classic.

InSight improves the way you take information in from your eyes. It improves your visual memory. It widens your useful field of view. It helps you keep up with fast action when watching sports or an action movie.

It is scientifically proven to reduce driving crash risk by 50% among other proven benefits. The best part is that it helps seniors drive longer.

The Brain Fitness Program Classic improves the information you take in from your ears. These games push your brain to hear sounds clearer. Some of the benefits include being able to remember what you hear better. Hearing better in a noisy room.

This program is scientifically proven to improve your memory by up to 10 years.

When you tune up your brain, other things get easier, like learning new things. Even the grocery store is easier and faster because you can spot what you need quicker.

It's great to enhance your quality of life. Especially for older people.

To learn more go to http://www.brainreview.info...

Re: Fresh from Health 2.0: two dozen of the most innovative new health apps

It is definitely better to search on a website built for medical search than a general search engine. Be smart about your eyes, and save money on glasses and sunglasses. Here's a few ways how:

Take your prescription where ever you like: If you usually only purchase glasses at your eye doctor's store, you don't need too! It's fine to ask to take your prescription home with you, rather that choose between the expensive pairs at the store. Also, be sure to ask the eye doctor to measure your pupilary distance- usually they won’t write that down and you need that to buy lenses online.

Buy glasses online?- www.Eyeglasses.com has a huge selection of glasses that are the same, if not better, than the ones you can purchase at storesl. Best of all? They will usually be a lot less money and their customer service is superb.

Get insured- You should see if your employer or personal insurance company offers vision insurance. This covers Ophthalmologist visits, eyeglasses, and contact lenses. Premiums run as low as $8.00 per month. Be sure to do the math first. Make sure to add up the monthly payments, and compare that to the savings they provide. If you do have insurance, check out the “Out-of-network” benefit. This benefit can be used at any store, not just the stores in your insurance network. This can help you out a lot.

Read the reviews- It's not really a good deal if you purchase a faulty, defective or poor quality product. Make sure you are getting that great bargain. Check the Better Business Bureau first.Eyeglasses.com has an A+ rating from the BBB SINCE 1999.

Take care of them! - Keep 'em clean- With eyeglasses, cleaning them properly, and avoiding laying them face down will avoid scratches and an early replacement. Also, take advantage of regular maintenance.

Re: Fresh from Health 2.0: two dozen of the most innovative new health apps

Hi there, my name is Colon CleanseHmm, this is actually a really great point.I really believe that one of the best attributes you can have is to be humble. Thank you for sharing this info and for keeping those of us who were unable to attend the event up to date.

Regarding Health 2.0 social networking, I'd like to mention another site that is a little different than PatientsLikeMe and CureTogether. www.FacetoFaceHealth.com matches people directly and privately to others who share their medical condition and experiences. Many other healthcare networking sites depend on forums to unite people, this site connects patients directly to each other. As are sites such as DailyStrength and RevolutionHealth which offer treatment journals.

Re: Fresh from Health 2.0: two dozen of the most innovative new health apps

it was very informative article! I didn't attend but published some nice items on the blog like the technology being used by Cisco and others so readers could see what's going on out there. We get back once again to training and education to get these things out in the world and it's a slow grow.

Part of the problem exists in the fact that we have no role models too. I don't see Oprah or Jay Leno talking it up:) For that matter is could be anyone in the public eye, just to draw attention to how important technology in healthcare is. Congress doesn't talk much about it either with anyone seeing the value. The link below might tell the story a bit better. Once you are on the front line trying to help others learn and comprehend the problem of getting more on the band wagon is apparent in about 5 minutes or less, doctors, patients, CEOs, etc.

http://ducknetweb.blogspot....

We have the struggling PHR pilot program in Arizona that has not caught on yet either. All of this technology is wonderful and creates better healthcare and efficiencies, but we have to do more than just build it as they are not coming yet.

Re: Fresh from Health 2.0: two dozen of the most innovative new health apps

Louis,

Sorry, I missed the doctations deep dive session, and was not able to get a full understanding of your products.
