VentureBeat: FriendFeed is absorbing more Twitter users, and that’s good for Twitter

    I agree with @wecandobiz , but not because Friendfeed is "cool" and new...rather, because it's a much more useful way to use Twitter - tons of meta data, real time search is better, you can better manage your contacts etc. Here's a link to a great post listing all the reasons people are switching to friendfeed - http://twitter.com/steffanantonas/statuses/1659...

    I have seen a steep rise in the number of FriendFeed folk adding me in the past week. I wondered (on Twitter, ironically) whether the move into the mainstream for Twitter has the tech leaders scurrying for someone new and more interesting to hang out...?

    I don't actively manage my FriendFeed profile, just blog and tweet and assume it's all appearing there. So I would seem to be using FriendFeed effectively without ever going to the site. Won't this present the same "monetization" issues that Twitter suffers from?

    Aaah.

    That's why I've been getting the "JoeBlow" just subscribed to your Friendfeed.

    Clever. But, reminiscint of the "upload your contacts, we'll spam them" days of social networks.

    Nevertheless, I just subscribed (and spammed) 300ish of my Twitter subscribers who are also using Friendfeed.

    Now, I have to go make a rule in Gmail so that friendfeed emails go into there own folder too, just like Twitter follower notifications.

    Oh puhleeez! Lookup Friendfeed on Quantcast: its not even a top 5000 site. The founders are trying every trick int he book to get more traffic, but it aint working. For a company that has been around as long as it has been - 2 years, it has no traffic whatsoever: less than 300k users. Benchmark should shut this one down, and the founders of Friendfeed should go back to Google, where they looked somewhat decent.

    So SB I guess you think digsby as a social message aggregator is just as irrelevant? I and many use digsby just for the same reasons Friendfeed exists. Let them evolve their service and niche at little longer than overnight before you flame them like a troll punk.
