VentureBeat: Google is finally starting to understand the power of Google Reader

    You would think they would have enough good content to provide at least a trends like interface.

    It's great to see more action around sharing items on the web - especially in apps like Google Reader where people are there to consume (presumably) interesting information. This is a space other people are taking head-on as well, like ShareThis and AddThis.

    I watch this with interest as someone who has built a web-based feed reader (and wanted to include these features) and as someone working with the ShareThis team to help enable sharing on the web.

    Hopefully as the space matures, we'll see some great services combined with open APIs that really have the best interests of the users at heart. Disclaimer, I'm currently affiliated with ShareThis.
