VentureBeat: Google launches incredible, expandable…ads

    What is so incredible about it ?
  • Worldly Invites · 9 months ago
    It's google so it's incredible.

    I wonder how they perform cpc wise. Slightly annoying imho.

    In addition to cost-per-click (CPC) and cost-per-impression (CPM), will they also charge for click to expand? There should be a value associated with the impression, the click to expand, and if applicable, click through to any link.

    I think cool since the ads will only expand when the user clicks to interact with the ad. Will also be cool if they roll out an easy way to use via adsense.

    @John

    The term is "Cost Per Engagement".

    The interesting fact is that there are still people who use a browser without ad blocking plug-ins...

    nice .... this opens up few other options in future where other page innovations can also be tried.
    probably what yahoo does on its homepage ?

    this may increase CTRs also ...

    The market needs some more significant innovation. CPA is a better area to innovate in instead of trying new variations of display/cpc/cpm.

    Cool - a new road for affiliates to venture down and experiment to see if it brings in sales for advertisers w/ affiliate programs.

    Sounds great conceptually. Many of my clients may benefit from this as it can be challenging to optimize texts ads and grab attention of your potential buyers.

    Thanks for sharing

    Thank you for the update. It's good information. I like the idea of grabbing someone's attention as Wendy just mentioned.
