“We are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.”

    This is how:

Sry guys, but I disagree with your '3 way competition'
Google OS doesn't compete with OS X and Windows or even Ubuntu
It's competing with Moblin, Ubuntu Remix, JoliCloud and the likes. It's a netbook OS.
    Don't mislead people.

I'm not sure how anyone reading our post would be misled into thinking Chrome OS won't be a netbook OS, at least initially. Note, though, that Google is explicit about wanting to move into other computers eventually. And if you don't think Google wants to take customers from Windows, I'd suggest reading the company's own blog post: "The operating systems that browsers run on were designed in an era where there was no web." Gee, I wonder who they could be talking about?

Gee. I wonder if those 'Operating Systems' are incapable of running these 'almighty' web apps. Oh wait..
When you put up Google OS as competing with Windows and OS X instead of other net book OS, you are misleading the average reader who isn't much informed. I wonder who is to blame for that.. anyone? Oh wait, you suggest reading Google's blog post, it's all their fault coz they said it.

Again, I haven't seen anything in your comments to convince me that Google isn't trying to convert Windows OS users into Chrome OS users.

It can be misleading when people can't read "good" ;)

It will take a very bold person at this point to install a Google OS on their system. They will be letting go of all their local applications, and be dependent mainly on web apps, and apps people start to develop for the Chrome OS (a very small pool to choose from).
