VentureBeat: Google to acquire GrandCentral?

  • RK · 2 years ago
    Hi Matt,

Interesting, Grand central is implementation of Astrix's open source SW for VOIP, these guys have cleverly twisted the SW with Web 2.0. What is more interesting is Google 's purchase of Peak stream Tech to me, this is a SW programming model company, which allowed people to use there GPU/video card to use it for co-processioning in complex math calc apps in parallel. Example :- Voice Rec, and video processing. which google needs cheaply. Peak Stream enables them to do that.

Interesting. Wonder how this will affect some of the smaller players in this space, such as Intellicom's Innoport product (www.innoport.com) or GotVMail? Will other search engines such as Ask.com or Yahoo!, or perhaps smaller/niche search engines look to add to their offerings in much the same way to attack the mobile search market?
