a correction to your article, Pandora is not 'user generated', and with DJ's making playlists for Goom, they are sounding more like Slacker which has seen a surprising rise in users of late.

At the same time, I find it preposterous that these firms would invest such a huge valuation on this start-up in this market. Particularly when the industry is being shaken up by entries such as Spotify.

As the founder of a live music focused start-up it is reassuring that some venture firms are seeing opportunity in the market, but unless I've missed something, where is the innovation and even business model for GOOM?

By user-generated I did not mean that users were producing the music themselves or handpicking the songs -- rather their predefined taste is used to present music that would be to their liking. In this way, it is similar to Pandora. Apologies for the confusion, and thank you for your comment!
