    So many think Twitter is ........ (you fill in the blank) but most people do not really understand it. As its full potential gets exposed more will become users and more will take it seriously. Thanks for your article.

    Only $589m? I think they under-estimate Twitter's longer term margins. Could be as high as 60%, in which case you could double the valuation. Also 25x forward PE looks cheap considering Twitter will still be growing. $GOOG trades at 30x PE, and is growing much slower that TWTR

    I think people need to be careful with valuations. As with any private company (or public for that matter) when making projections based on speculative or projected numbers, models can be highly sensitive to the inputs. Even using the latest venture rounds doesn't necessarily reflect the truest value of a company - yes, in the end a company is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, but the limited information available isn't enough for buyers of shares on a private exchange like SharesPost to make informed decisions, even if they are accredited investors.
