You have captured the essence of his problem very well. It is an epidemic which has affected virtually all manufacturers. There is a need for greater transparency and traceability in the supply chain - and a great opprtunity for the solution provider that figures it out.

Our company, YottaMark, has been developing solutions to product counterfeiting (and diversion) for the past 4 years. In fact, we've been working with Mr. Hatano, major semiconductor manufacturers, and SEMI to develop an industry standard for detecting counterfeit semiconductors.
We provide authentication and traceability solutions ... and expect that the emergence of the standard will lead to widescale adoption.
