before Apple pushes out a new iPhone, I just want them to fix cut-n-paste, and provide flash on the existing devices. That's all. Nothing major. Just the simple stuff!

iPhone on Verizon is what I am thinking. Nations largest network, can't go wrong.

why would apple be so stupid GSM covers more than 70% of the world where CDMA only covers roughly more than 30% why would apple tear out the iphone's insides to put CDMA compatible hardware in it which would only be compatible with networks that only cover 30% of the globe. the GSM network offered by AT&T is much simpler and more secure the SIMS card technology that GSM networks is more secure on an unmeasurable level. it also makes it simple to switch phones. if you put a pass code on the iphone you can make it to where if the pass code is guessed wrong more than 10 times the iphone erases all of its memory and burns the SIMS card making the iphone virtually unusable after that period.

Good round-up of info. Phil Schiller has also noted that the general release schedule that Apple thinks about for iPhone is the June timeframe.

I would think since iPhone is the third leg of the Apple stool, they may adopt the naming scheme of the old golden goose, the mac. In such case, Macbook, and iMac do not get special names each time they refresh, and people don't have a problem buying the new versions, or even knowing that the new ones have been created. iPod has also followed a similar path. iPod Nano and such. I would expect unless they release a dramatically different form factor the name will remain.

The other issue I see with the speed boosts is how do you deal with new apps that require the faster hardware to run smoothly. Maybe it is just like the PC world where it is Buyer beware, but I hope Apple has a bit of a better policy.

I think we will see it thinner and shorter. Same screen size for sure, maybe higher resolution since the apps are resolution independent (to a point)
I think it will stay iPhone 3G, and eventually they will drop the 3G portion.

You heard it here first -- I predict: "iPhone Video"

Probably will feature a built in vid cam for iChat video and other native video recording features.

Video on the iPhone, we actually heard it here first: http://www.informationweek.com/blog/main/archiv...

I'd like to be able to attach photos to emails after launching the email application and not having to start in the photos application then go to email.

Clarification: I'm just predicting the "iPhone Video" official name of the device

(a la the title of this article); not claiming to be the first to mention that video is in the future of the device. I just have a strong prediction that iPhone Video is what it will be called...mark my words...:)

A friend of mine has a friend who works at Apple California... and has confidently proclaimed the new iPhone's main difference is that it is smaller, the size of an average mobile phone. We'll see in June...

Hmm, what's an average mobile phone, like a RAZR?

Ah, what's point if we can't make stabs in the dark.

I'm going to go for 'Iphone Nano' ... for one thing - apple have the domain registered

Wouldnt it be great if it were stable......... and the horrible echo and feedback was reduced no removed from the phone module, that the bluetooth was "functional" that we could yes "copy and paste", that the UI wasnt adhorent or boring and more customizable. A removable battery would help, a decent camera would certainly be a bonus, a higher and decent screen res would also be nice........ basically a device that does more than just appeal to the eye and oh yes gosh the most important bit, fuck me why cant the name not be about fruit! "Apple" bwhahahahhahaha
