Dealing with checks these days seems more of a hassle than anything else. Especially with the internet making it so easy.

Re: iPhone breaks another barrier: Lets you deposit checks with its camera

couldn't agree more

Re: iPhone breaks another barrier: Lets you deposit checks with its camera

I believe this new system is quite good.
If you have any security idea or technology then you can take part in GLOBAL SECURITY CHALLENGE (GSC) competition for the 'Most Promising Security Idea' category. What should be mentioned is that USAA started as a bank for US military officers & their families(my father was Marines). Yes it's small, & mostly internet based; though there is a teller office in San Antonio, TX. But most of their clients are military personnel who are constantly on the move, which makes the ease of check depositing all the more necessary.

Re: iPhone breaks another barrier: Lets you deposit checks with its camera

In Europe checks are more or less history.

Re: iPhone breaks another barrier: Lets you deposit checks with its camera

USAA has been on the ball with new technology. They are a virtual bank that saves cost due to having no branches. They pass these savings on to customers by reimbursing those ridiculous ATM fees and allowing free money transfers to any bank from your accounts. They have a Twitter news account @USAA_NEWS and a social media rep who I believe is @JohnHancock61. They also have a web-based mobile application that is accessed through the iPhone browser yet looks and acts like a local application.

I've used the SCAN @ HOME system for depositing checks for the past couple years but this new iPhone app to deposit checks will be my new deposit system.

Nice work USAA.

If only your website worked with Google Chrome!!!!!
