VentureBeat: It’s all about utility: Social media apps grow up (for advertisers, too)

  • Amir Shah · 10 months ago
It's about time someone starting promoting 'actual utility' for social networks. Our latest project, noog.com, is designed to provide social and academic 'utilities' for college students. Your thoughts? http://www.noog.com

    Thanks for everyone’s comments:

Amir: Thanks for the comments I agree it’s all about utility. Happy to discuss Noog with you shoot me an email and we can chat offline

London Massage: I agree apps have all the plumbing built in as they tie into the social graph. Friends can now connect around specific interests and you can use things like the newsfeed to stay connected. Yes FB is a massive mall but the only way you can sell anything at your shop is if you invite the right people inside and have something to offer

Annalise: Apps are websites but better. You can engage with all the content that you’re interested in with your friends. The key for a brand once you find that perfect audience is not disrupt the party but rather pull up a chair and join politely

    AC: Thanks man!

    Ridertech: You guys rock..

Again for those of you who commented thank you

Umm--is the link for Dogbook incorrect? I get directed to dogracing.com--perhaps not such a good fit for Purina...
  • Camille Ricketts · 9 months ago
The Dogbook link has been fixed. Thanks for catching that, kap!
  • kap · 9 months ago
Yup--that link is bad. Should be to www.dogbook.ca not .com
