VentureBeat: Jaxtr raises $10 million, doubles users in one month

To clarify, we provide a link that generates a local number for each caller rather than simply assigning a number for the callee (like GrandCentral or SkypeIn do) because a number that is local to the caller allows the caller to bypass international phone charges. Callee numbers, like those provided by SkypeIn and GrandCentral, force callers from abroad to pay international fees, which can be hefty, especially if the call is initiated on a mobile phone.

I like the product. One wonders, though ... "Jaxtr plans to make money by charging people who use more than their allotted 100 minutes per month; he hopes to get 20 million users in the next twelve months and is planning for only around one percent of these users to pay for additional minutes."
    20000000 * 100 minutes * 2 legs/call * 1 cent/leg
This amounts to 40 million $ / month expense only for phone calls; how about all the rest such as salaries just to keep customer service and network operation center running properly?
1% paying customers, each spending $10 equals 2 million
There is a huge deficit that needs to be explained.

I wonder what the investors are thinking.

There should be a business play to this technology, however cost of sales and competition could be deadly too. By way of example answer the question: "why didn't Skype become a business telephony tool?"
