The Cloud is a threat for Oracle as there will be less Oracle data base: one cloud provider will have only one maintenance contract to their many customers. IF the could provider chooses Oracle - chances are PostgreSQL might just be selected over Oracle.

Ellison probably knows he has lost the cloud battle already to AWS.
