VentureBeat: Local yogurt store tells Scoble that Steve Jobs is “in great health”

  • Rod · 11 months ago
MG, you had me until you misspelled caramel.
  • MG Siegler · 11 months ago
I know Rod, so embarrassing, just fixed right before your comment I swear. I think I had Carmel, the place, on my mind.

This "people journalism" thing is really pathetic. Everyone speaks off his ass without any sense of responsibility.

Who buys yoghurt from a cafe type place? I get mine from the grocery store in plastic pots.

I'm clearly not 'in' with the jet set.
  • Scobleizer · 11 months ago
dotBen: you've never been to Fraiche? You must go! Also Ross Mayfield saw another famous person in this store yesterday: http://ross.typepad.com/blog/2008/12/culture-mo...

What is apparent is that Gizmodo's writers are the perfect target of stock short-sellers: young, gullible, desperate-for-scoops, and basically, amateurs at reporting, or understanding even the simple basics of fact checking. I mean, for god's sake, Scoble at least does some leg work for this thing (as did Goldman). Gizmodo? Just had to post without checking to, you know "beat Engadget".

The saddest part? At some point, Steve Jobs will retire/quit/pass away. Could be next week, next month, next year, or 5 years from now. And guys like the Gizmodo writers will be the first to say "SEE? TOLD YOU SO", and proudly link to their old posts. As if that somehow makes their rumormongering somehow justifiable. Embarrassing

First, Fraiche is fantastic! Second, I think a number of us who live in/near Palo Alto see SJ quite regularly, and he always appears to be doing just fine.

Wonder what Apple makes of this - they'll probably send an NDA to them in return for continuing their yoghurt contract <grin>

I find it strange that Scoble did not find his 'Yogurt shop reporting' worthy of more than a Friendfeed mention, seeing that your post is near the top of Techmeme.
  • Dave McClure · 11 months ago
"... and in a related development, Fraiche sales are up in January, due to influx of Apple bloggers/analysts/reporters descending on the store en masse to Jobs-watch" ;)

Scoble checking sources on Jobs deathwatch? that really has to be cutting into his FriendFeed time.

I just saw Steve Jobs. I'm blogging from his house right now. Ok i'm in his driveway.
  • KenC · 11 months ago
At least the yoghurt worker doesn't have Put options on Apple or is selling Apple short.
  • jnolan · 11 months ago
Fraiche really is excellent and for the record I have also seen Jobs sitting on the steps adjacent to their front door eating frozen yogurt. He's also been spotted at La Strada... time for a "Where's Steve" facebook app... c'mon McClure, this is right in your sweet spot.

Jesus Diaz can at best be a tool. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Just Google his pathetic history of befuddlement and miserable record of predictions in forums like Mac OS X Talk in the past.

Once at an Apple event he asked Jobs why Apple, a company clearly setting out on a consumer electronics trajectory at the time, wasn't paying attention to WebObjects, a decidedly enterprise product. Jobs put him down tersely.

    He's an attention monger.

jesus diaz cant be a short seller apparently he is simply an irresponsible nitwit reporting unsupported speculation.get a life..........
  • JobsIsDEAD · 11 months ago
What a shame you are all so indenial of Jobs last few weeks on earth that you have to SLANDER Jesus Diaz by fabricating such stories like with your usual fud of Macs worth.

As a vegan (one of main the reasons for his tragically accelerated demise) he has already discussed his reasons against Dairy products - what next are you going to tell us - that it was actually SOYA yoghurt- you sad SICK TWISTED INDENIAL loosers.
  • JobsIsDEAD · 11 months ago
    - You will soon begin to experience your WORST nightmare - LIFE without your personal Jesus - Jobs - your meaning of life...

    Read it and WEEP suckers.......

My "WORST nightmare," eh? That must be an acronym for Windows Only Runs Spyware/Trojans.

Spot on Dave M - this just became a big commercial for Fraiche.
  • Captain Obvious · 11 months ago
How much of your life did you waste writing this? Honestly, you are a fucking loser. You should also ask the locker room attendant where Jobs works out how big his cock is and if it looked limp or appeared in good health as well.
  • Stabby McGee · 11 months ago
Oh crap, Scroble said Steve's health is fine. Any one who has followed Scroble knows this mean that Steve is deathly ill.
  • Chris · 11 months ago
Does anyone else find it odd that Steve Jobs, a man instantly recognizable by a horde of rabid fanboys and the entire tech industry, would casually stroll out to a yogurt store for a periodic treat? Wouldn't that be like Britney Spears walking into a Starbucks?

I mean, honestly, even if he was a fan of this particular shop, isn't that what executive assistants are for?
  • Facebook User · 11 months ago
Honestly, outside of the 'tech' industry, Steve Jobs isn't a household name like Bill Gates or Brittney Spears.
  • a · 11 months ago
cancer patients can still eat yogurt
  • Crashpad · 11 months ago
Most here might as well be on Apples payroll! I wonder if you are. Steve Jobs will die, of that there is no doubt. I believe what is so telling about this commentary is the constant vigilance of his mass of old gaurd to prop his sagging health up in anyway possible.
People he is just another flim flam man who really does not deserve this much devotion. So what if he is ill. Who really cares?
    Now let the flaming begin.

Yogurt is a good source of probiotics but not the best... The best source is a probiotic supplement. For more information, check out www.truthaboutprobiotics.com
