They are more of a site repping company, but if you can get in with them they are pretty solid. Customer support sucks, but they pay well.

Re: Lookery, the Facebook advertising network…with lots of data

That little fucker zuckerberg thinks like I do. We will all learn as we get deeper into it.

I have seen early reviews before, and that is one thing you have to keep in mind - we are in a new environment, inside a company that already said "Monetize your apps (that you wrote) how you want." So yes, Mark Zuckerberg opened up that door.

Why? Why not should be the question.

Rex
Publisher Relations, Lookery

Re: Lookery, the Facebook advertising network…with lots of data

he doesn't get that demographics are pointless. you can use fql calls to ONLY display to the people the advertiser wants.

doesnt' matter, fb will pwn them anyway.

Re: Lookery, the Facebook advertising network…with lots of data

@ANON, yup the current rates are generic social run of site stuff i.e. not great. that's because our current ads fit that description. We aren't doing targeting until about aug 6. At that point we'll add gender, followed by age, location, etc. Prices will then be noticeably higher.

@Jay, we think there are a few reasons why FB won't want to step on us. We could be wrong.

Re: Lookery, the Facebook advertising network…with lots of data

Another win for OpenAds in my book!

I'm a passionate supporter of OpenAds, they have an amazing product -- and it's FREE!

Re: Lookery, the Facebook advertising network…with lots of data

What a joke. Even if they manage to build something mildly successful, Facebook will squeeze them by:

a) Copying it and doing it better
b) Making the revenue share terms awful

Think about it, Facebook opens up the platform to let people develop apps and Facebook can let various approaches to things like advertising compete. It can watch to see which approach is winning, copy it or screw it by ruining the revenue share.

Mark Zuckerberg is smarter than you lot.

Re: Lookery, the Facebook advertising network…with lots of data

Those CPM rates are terrrrrrible, especially considering the possible targeting.
