Haha, no worries Zee - I think that was a pretty standard conclusion to come to :)

Great features, but unfortunately following what has been working in other faster services. Maybe they should have some kind of a 'playground' to see how people react to it instead of forcing some of those UI choices, but then, will people try it out? Why not do it as Google does by enabling the user to have more and more options depending on its interest in that part of the service? That would be great for Facebook as they indeed changed ideas following what the users were bragging about.

Great news for the feature-needy individual though ;p

    Just my two cents:

    Twitter:
Twitter is just noise. This is making people less productive and also the system is now falling prey to marketers. The marketers tend to be the shady black hat characters. There aren't many Dell case studies for now.
    FriendFeed:
I'm very serious with my question. Who really uses FriendFeed? I have no idea what they do and the value they would add to me on a daily basis.

Takeaway my email account and PDA -I'm screwed. Takeaway my Twitter and FriendFeed (what ever that is) and I don't lose any sleep.

Actually Friendfeed is very usual (in contrast to Twitter). I am working in academic research and I use FriendFeed to keep track of what other researchers are reading and to participate in scientific discussions. I have seen many examples where it was helpful to solve problems in much the same way a forum would. There are currently around 640 scientists registered in the "The Life Scientists" friendfeed room.

I think this is a twitter killer -- it allows ppl to follow a person without permission, which is exactly how twitter differentiate itself from facebook, and the only plausible difference.

I can't imagine someone can do the same thing on a single website (which is facebook) would bother to log into another website (which is twitter).

There's no way Facebook can own this space forever. No way. With Facebook tied to your real identity, many people are not going to be comfortable with them as the middle man for everything they do, publicly and privately, on the web. Look for open federated services to pose a real threat.

Here’s a visualization of the new facebook logo, after they try to be more like twitter ;)

Actually I like twitter more than facebook—it is much more simple, I don’t get any requests for boring stuff and it replaced my RSS feed reader. Twitter is loading much fast and is focussed on tweets, nothing else.

I also tracked some links, which I posted on both—facebook and twitter. On twitter they have been clicked about 10 to 20 times more often.

there is a common trend in the valley concerning the web-based giants (facebook, twitter, friendfeed, google, etc.) where each service is providing a free source of R&D.
