Though I like Foursquare much more. Lunch is the closest thing we've seen to RateItAll.com to date - we introduced ratings based compatibility tests more than a year ago, and until Lunch, considered ourselves the only true horizontal ratings site on the web.

We'll be following them closely to see what new ideas they bring to the space.

Re: No free lunch: The story behind VirtualTourist’s big exit, and Lunch.com

I've been on Lunch.com for only a short bit.. well.. it's only been live for a short bit. Either way, I get a very good vibe from the site. Quite intuitive in design. I'm confident I'll be spending a fair bit of time at Lunch. http://www.lunch.com/medxce...

Re: No free lunch: The story behind VirtualTourist’s big exit, and Lunch.com

Never heard of Lunch neither virtualtourist. But its interesting to know that how companies work in niche areas and probably with some little bit of luck land a sweet M&A deal with a giant.

I dont know how much of a threat was VirtualTourist for expedia but these days where - user base and unique visits count a lot these moves make lots of sense.

Re: No free lunch: The story behind VirtualTourist’s big exit, and Lunch.com

Expedia is doing what big companies do...buying their competition.

Re: No free lunch: The story behind VirtualTourist’s big exit, and Lunch.com

I hate Such Fake Deal
