I have to admit, that any web business can start to feel a little threatened by the Google cloud, but yet we need to acknowledge it is there to stay for now. As long as there is no 'overlording' of technology and 1 man bands can come up with the 'next great idea' in their shed - the worlds a great place.

I just hope the Google cloud doesn't breed so many new technologies, apps and businesses that it becomes too difficult for new players to create new sustainable, businesses online. It would be a real shame in entrepreneurs first thoughts were to 'not start' due to massive online competition.

Just a thought.

The adoption figures are impressive, but I suspect that they are mostly small companies/websites/workgroups using the free version. Sure, it gets them hooked, but how many large enterprises are making the jump?

for gods sake why doesn't Google just acquire Zoho to offer CRM/SFA. Just today a friend of mine asked me which CRM/SFA automation he should go with. I've used Salesforce in the past and found it to be fantastic, user friendly and robust with features. However, after using Zoho I feel that my buddy would benefit just as much.
Somebody should acquire these guys. If Zoho is holding out and simply being greedy they will eventually get slaughtered.
