VentureBeat: OpenTable wins big with hearty IPO

I don't think the fact that the vc's sold their share is indicative of anything. They invested in 1999...I think they have held on long enough.

Henry Blodgett nails an analysis of how overvalued Opentable is:

To sum up his take: Currently at 65x and one stumble drops them to 20x which would be a 70% decline.

When the world is in the largest economic downturn since 1873 pushing people going out to dinner or lunch in a restaurant much lesser, there is an IPO for a table reservation system?

Currently you don't need to make reservations in restaurants as there are enough free tables.

Funny - most of the expensive restaurants in Vegas, SF or NY seem pretty packed every time I walk by them.
