Well I finally got an email from Parallels with an apology and a remedy to the problem that involved turning off a video feature so all in all a much better user experience.
So I will have to back peddle in response to my earlier post and recommend Parallels 5 as it now works beautifully and much faster.

I upgraded to Parallels 5 which wasn't seemless, I had to look through forums of to get the thing to work properly. Once it finally worked one program, Act started to create artifacts, the outlines of the fields within my CMS where being re created at the top of the screen.

Upon attempting to ask why only one program was experiencing problems, I eventually found out that I had to buy support, well if the program did work and now it doesn't I don't feel inclined to pay additional money to get it working properly.

So overall a bad user experience, I would try VM Fusion if you are a new user otherwise stick to your current version of parallels and avoid the headaches.

I would recommend VMware Fusion bcuz its more stable. Plus they've only upgraded to version 3, vs version 5 of parallels.

They would be scared because users would slowly wean away from windows. In the long run, it is a loss of users, though in short term it might mean a few extra licenses.

Why's that? Even if you install Windows on Mac using Parallels Desktop, you still need a Windows license!
So, it's even better for MS, because they'll sell more copies of Windows, to both regular PC users as well as Mac users that need/want to run it on Parallels Desktop. :)
