VentureBeat: Parascale raises $11.37M to help companies control their cloud storage destiny

    Anthony,

Before you simply suck down these vendor poured PR slurpies, could you at least do a Wikipedia research on the meaning of Cloud Computing, because these jerks are not it.

Eh, I suppose Paracale's use of "cloud" is perhaps not the most common one -- i.e., in the same sense Google and Amazon are using it -- but I think I'm pretty clear about the kind of services they claim to provide. Maybe that's not how you'd like to see the word used, but if I'm using it incorrectly, then so is practically every other news site covering the company. Maybe we're just a bunch of dumb tech journalists misleading our readers, but I think I'll need more a substantive argument than you calling the company jerks and telling me to use Wikipedia to convince me.

As much as I like the phrase "vendor-poured PR slurpies," I have to wonder if there's anything in particular fueling your rage.

Hmm, I've thought about this some more, and although I suppose I can try to justify the cloud description as per my earlier comment, it doesn't really help anyone understand what the company does. So I've taken the word "cloud" from the headline. As far as I can tell, that's the only time I refer to Parascale as cloud storage. Thanks.
