I couldn't understand some parts of this article Prosper wants to create a secondary market in p2p loans, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.

This is a most interesting development.
First it allows lenders to withdraw money early, should they need to.
Secondly and much more important it allows new investment strategies e.g. lenders that only pick loans and then sell them with profit after several months or lenders that don't bid on loans but buy young loans based on their analysis of default risk and ROI
