Since when does France "hate" the USA ? Or do you mean that each time someone disagrees with you, she hates you ? Well I must probably hate you then (hint: I don't. I don't even know you.)

Re: Reader Poll: Should the $700 billion bailout plan be approved?

So - are you from Iran, France, or some other country that hates us?
If you are an American- are you leaving? We need less people like you here.

Re: Reader Poll: Should the $700 billion bailout plan be approved?

Let the market recover on its own. (It's already doing so.) Further bailouts will just increase big government and continue to encourage greed among some business leaders and congressional members. THEY are a big part of the problem and don't need to benefit from the current plan.

Let those who played major part in creating this crisis (including homeowners who KNEW they couldn't afford those houses) fend for themselves.

Americans who are economically responsible are tired of bloated government. Thanks to courage of those in Congress who won't sell out.

If a less expensive plan emerges with guarantees that middle class taxpayers won't AGAIN be responsible for irresponsible, fraudulent behavior by some business and government leaders, then I would support those in Congress who vote for the bill.

Re: Reader Poll: Should the $700 billion bailout plan be approved?

On no circumstance should the bail out pass. Tell your friend to pack up and head somewhere else ;)

Re: Reader Poll: Should the $700 billion bailout plan be approved?

The American Dream has turned into the American Nightmare. Sigh!

The United States' superpower status may be toast in a few years. Many of my friends has lost big, one of whom was just a few years away from retirement. Wall Street has been very very very unkind to them; however, most of them no longer have the expected income on which they can retire. What a shame.

Re: Reader Poll: Should the $700 billion bailout plan be approved?

There are other reasons to vote no than that it won't restore confidence...
