a nice reminder of how important/beneficial genuine dialogue can be. seems so simple - and yet so often overlooked/avoided.

@graywolf: The link you posted contradicts your comment. Kevin did exactly what Lou is suggesting everyone do, which is to be transparent about your decision making and take your customer feedback into account.

no it shows how he lacks the backbone to stick by his original stance when the tide of public opinion turns against him

No, it shows that sometimes people have to reconsider their actions and stances when the facts on the ground don't conform to their desires.

Imagine you knock over a candle in your home and your curtains start to burn. Since it's a small fire you can handle it. You go and get a pot of water to throw on the burning curtains, but it's not enough to put the fire out. You repeat the process a few times, but it's in vain, the fire is spreading to the walls now. Should you show "the backbone to stick by [your] original stance?" Or should you go outside and call the fire department?

Flip Flopping, graywolf? Did I just get out of the Wayback Machine in October, 2004? I feel like I should be watching an ad featuring the Swiftboat Veterans.
