It has tremendous implications for all virtual economies and virtual asset exchange.  Is all digital content essentially a commodity as Raph Koster proclaims it is (&lt;a href="http://www.raphkoster.com/2006/11/15/copybot/)?" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" title="http://www.raphkoster.com/2006/11/15/copybot/)?"&gt;http://www.raphkoster.com/2...&lt;/a&gt; DRM isn't the only solution.  I was speaking with Lew Tucker today (now of Radar Networks, formerly of &lt;a href="http://Salesforce.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" title="Salesforce.com"&gt;Salesforce.com&lt;/a&gt;'s AppExchange) about sound design principles for building a marketplace around virtual objects (which is essentially what AppExchange is.)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What I'm really curious about is how Second Life entrepreneurs and Linden Labs adjust to this.  If content is indeed a commodity, it presents an incredible creative challenge for SL entrepreneurs to create truly differentiated businesses.
