In the same way it's going to kill SF, since innovation is non-existent for the pure reason that mega-corps don't want it, thus opening the door for systems like BaseCRM. BaseCRM is now what SF should look like 5 years ago.

I remember the day while working for Sony Ericsson, when somebody came in with an iPhone. That feeling is yet to come for SF.

Re: Salesforce.com’s Marc Benioff: ‘Many CEOs are afraid to get too personal’

Inspiring article. best time for SaaS is yet to come

Re: Salesforce.com’s Marc Benioff: ‘Many CEOs are afraid to get too personal’

Hola Antonio,

Buena entrevista, coincido con la visión de MB sobre la proxima generación de aplicaciones integradas a redes sociales, hay un interes creciente de esta interaccion mas alla de un CRM a nivel financiero, SCM.... mas cercana al ERP "Social Bussines".

Re: Salesforce.com’s Marc Benioff: ‘Many CEOs are afraid to get too personal’

Thanks, Ian!

Re: Salesforce.com’s Marc Benioff: ‘Many CEOs are afraid to get too personal’

I think it's easy to underestimate how intrinsically the SaaS model is going to change the software industry. I certainly have. Aside from the ROI and customer use advantages, I think a key development is the appearance of application exchanges. My own believe is that these exchanges are the most valuable piece of the whole equation. So far, the most popular exchanges are company specific (e.g., Salesforce, Apple, etc.), but I gotta believe someone is going to jump on the opportunity to create an independent exchange where you can mix, match and integrate different apps.

Re: Salesforce.com’s Marc Benioff: ‘Many CEOs are afraid to get too personal’

Great interview, particularly the parts about learning to deal with customers and larger companies vs. upstart competitors.
