sequoia doesn't need yale. hits such as google, youtube, and yahoo have made every institutional investor worldwide salivate at the opportunity to invest in anything labeled sequoia - whether india, china, or tanzania. indeed, more investors in europe and india and china have woken up to the idea of venture capital and would gladly give money with a carte blanche to sequoia. thus they don't need yale's scrutiny and conditions.

My money is on Sequoia... Yale or not Yale, they are known as A-holes who deliver. They have the upper hand with LPs.

Thanks for bringing this to light! Sequoia is just asking for trouble by kicking one of its great, old school investors to the curb. Who is working for who, anywho? Now that Yale has been excluded from the club, they might take their ball and leave the playground, and draw other investors to new investment firms like the Pied Piper. Ah, the arrogance of Sequioa.
Will Sequoia outlive Yale? Unlikely.
Sequoia has forgotten that it is the entrepreneur and the VC in this case is Yale.
Sequoia has just commited hara-kiri.
