The folks from SRI presented some slides about CALO - the "cognitive assistant" - at an SD Forum event last year on the Semantic Web (however, CALO was the only one presented without a demo). It sounds more shadowy and sinister than it probably is; the main idea is that this software is constantly watching what you do, in an effort to learn the context and try to anticipate the semantics of the content it sees.
