VentureBeat: Solvate raises $2.3M to help you hire remote office assistants

  • virtuallin · 2 months ago
The correct term is 'Virtual Assistant' and it is by no means new - we've been here for over a decade. The people that Solvate hires as VAs will get only a fraction of that $25 per hour and thus they'll get bottom of the barrel workers. This will be an abject failure and it seems they haven't done a lick of research.

Solvate's approach is focussed and that is what gets them going. I am still skeptical a bit about its long term success. But given the track record of its promotors, who have been serial investors, I must say that it has some great strength.

ezdia a fothcoming knowledge sharing platform will outshine solvate and other similar platform with its wide array of offering.

Congratulations to Solvate on the funding. I do think there are segments of the market that will support a more hands on approach to the elances of the world (we are trying a hands on approach at http://www.offshoreadvisor.com/ ), but it is going to be an uphill battle. If they end up doing a lot of one-off projects they will struggle. My 2 cents is to target medium and larger enterprises where they may get larger, longer-term deals.
