VentureBeat: Some reasons for DeWolfe and Anderson to stay at MySpace

  • Roger The Dodger · 9 months ago
It's amazing the amount of coverage Dewolfe has generated about this. The source to all is him, or rather his plant dani dudeck. It's actually pretty impressive that he's getting every media outlet to bite....then again, it could bite him in the a#$. The reality is simple -- he wants to stay for two reasons -- first, its a great platform for someone who wants to hobnob with hollywood and the media elite, and two, he gets paid a lot of money.

To actually think he could have a role at News Corp is far fetched. He is despised by every single senior executive at Fox. He has enemies at every corner, and Murdoch was his protector (not sure if it was wendi or rupert, but a murdoch). However, Rupert is furious that Facebook is the fair haired child now and has lapped MySpace. So instead of doubling down and getting to work, Dewolfe galavants to media get togethers, parties with paris hilton and ends up in the tabloids and now leaks these stories. He's digging his own grave.

On top of all this, rumors inside FIM are that he's about to enter a drug rehab for his coke and xtasy addiction and his divorce has turned really nasty. Plus, a new book about to come out details his shady past which includes pornography web sites, embezzelment at some bank and spam. The good news is that i think Fox has an option on this story to make a movie : )

Brutal. If you're not mixing publicly-available information with your own speculation, can you email me at eric (at) venturebeat (dot) com? Thanks.

How much publicly available information do you need? This gravedigging has been going on for years. Or did you not attend the much lauded Google party at which Chris spit wine all over the "dancers," in front of all conference attendees? Shockingly (ha), he did not appear at his panel, which was scheduled for the next morning....duh. Valleywag headlines - so exciting!
And Fox does not necessarily have the option on the book.
