Speed test shocker: AT&T wins Gizmodo’s 12-city 3G megatest
With AT&T, as much as I hate them, you at least get choice. With Sprint you are forced into their unlimited everything plan. I'd rather just pay for features I need, and end up saving money with AT&T.
Getting unlimited everything and paying another $30 is not worth it to me, plus to me the iPhone is just a better phone.
What I think sprint was trying to do was unlimited to unlimited. a $60 premium over 24 months does add up...
Give them a bit more time before rushing out to get one... It seems to be a good platform to develop for... now it's a matter of doing it.
I'm in a plan with 3 people and I pay much less than $100 a month. I never would've gotten the iPhone if I had to pay that much.
Anyway, this is their basic 450 anytime minute plan w/ unlimited nights and weekends. I don't ever even use that many daytime minutes.
$70/month for phone service
$60/month for data for 2 phones
That said, I had to do my research and find the plan and explicitly ask for it. AT&T is pretty good at making it seem like you have to purchase one of the more expensive plans for the iphone, but the only think that the iphone is really tied to is the $30/month data plan.
Just thought I'd break it down.
I don't see how anyone who knows the facts can argue that Sprint isn't a better deal.
And as for what people are using on the original iPhone, that's pretty irrelevant since you don't have 3G on it.
And that's not taking into account regional issues like the constant dropped calls AT&T has in my area. On Sprint you get free roaming on Verizon's towers.
Palm sucks
I took a look at Sprint's website for the plans and found them to be way higher for what I use, so I believe Sprint's ads compare unlimited to unlimited talk which is not accurate of the typical 1st Gen Iphone user who they are targeting. I will definitely not switch.
