VentureBeat: Symark acquires BeyondTrust in run up to IPO

BeyondTrust does something similar (managing admin privileges) for Windows desktops, while Symark does it for Linux/Unix servers. They're not rivals, but they have similar technologies for different markets.

Also, what they do is manage the access privileges of IT. It's more about limiting the access IT administrators have, rather than making sure they're the only ones that have it.

BTW, just to share that BeyondTrust & Symark don't compete in any market space. Symark is in Privileged Password management & BeyondTrust "Elimitaes Admin Privilege". This acquisition simple complement both companies to consolidate products and enhance teh suit of solution.
