Founder Alex Kazim says that he got the idea for Tekarma while working at the auction site, which hawks goods without the technical and customer support that accompany brand new products. While Tekarma offers a price-comparison tool, it is very clearly focused on return to tiffany users who have already purchased a product.

Re: Tekarma centralizes product reviews, customer support

WOW - very bad news for Fixya and its investors. Tekarma looks to beat them them in their own ground.
FixYa has done an incredible SEO job you see them first page for almost every related search. With Tekarma's innovative layout FixYa is bound to lose a significant part of their traffic and content creation.

FixYa's main 2 faults were it's awful UI (It just doesn't cut it) and the huge amount of spam in the site. Tekarma features seem to improve these UGC pains well.

Maybe competition will encourage the Palo Alto guys to progress. The community is no doubt going to enjoy this.
