I'm excited about electric cars news but tired of hearing about Tesla Motors- until they start producing cheaper models. For electric cars to be serious contenders, they need to be mid-priced economy vehicles that most households can by with tax incentives etc. Not expensive cars which you have the option of paying for for the rest of your life, but mid-ranged vehicles. According to new reports, up to 1/3 of cars buyers want to go electric- which would reduce oil dependency, green house emissions, foreign oil dependency, health care costs, and create jobs. Minor correction...
I think the 2010 Roadster *Sport* is said to do 0-60 in 7 seconds.
The "regular" model is still quoted as 3.9

Tried to type "in 3.7 seconds"

In any case, I don't think all 2010 models are supposed to do 0-60 in 3.7s, just the sport version.

Interesting. Hope Tesla will be sucessful. Clean tech is definitely one of the hot areas in 2009-2010:
