Perry, Although I agree that raising institutional capital too early can sometimes be a curse. Citing Google and PayPal don't prove your point. Quite the opposite. Correct me if I'm wrong but Google had $25M in the bank before they figured out their business and PayPal raised money, merged with another VC-backed company and was restarted after a failed attempt to become an on-line bank.
