Good move. But wish more details were provided around pricing. Such services need to move towards an utility model, quicker this happens better the adoption.

Guess Calais could learn from Amazon WS. The pricing model is always fleshed out to a very great extent out there.

Tom Tague and the Calais team continue to show thought leadership around the semantic web, and how to approach creating a business model for the web. Congratulations!

    maheshcr:

No secrets. The price for Calais professional is $2,000 per month for up to 100K transactions per day. The price for Calais Enterprise is on a case by case basis based on volumes and use case.

Open Calais remains free for commercial or non-commercial use for up to 40,000 transactions per day.

This is a fantastic technology. Even using Zemanta on your blog gives some early indication of just how powerful semantic tech can be. I'm looking forward to seeing how Calais is used over the next year.
