Whoever came up with that name should be tazed. "Thoof"? It sounds like "fluff" which is the last think I would want my "news site" associated with.

$1M for this? If the founding, connections, etc. can make it fly through partnerships et al, great. Otherwise, I don't see this getting anywhere.

Regardless, I just visited the site and I've got an "Internal error" :-(

Good point on Findory -- should have mentioned.

From the wording at its site, Findory looks to use the collaborative filtering technology, which I mentioned lower in the story, which Clarke says he found problems with. He built one of these filters while at Revver, and decided to avoid it at Thoof.

The other difference is Thoof's use of collaborative editing to ensure story accuracy.

Did you know http://www.keegy.com it's working in spanish version from early this year and recently launched US version. The idea is very similar, but, we have working from the last 6 months :P
