So, it's the choice of media and preference on the author. I think it's fair to give TwitPub a closer look and it's definitely a more interesting business model compared to online advertising on the web.

Any web startup which solely depends on online advertising will probably die in a few years. Probably a small group like venture beat or techcrunch will survive.

Re: http://venturebeat.com/2009/04/16/twitpub-aims-to-bring-marketplace-to-twitter/

Thanks for posting such a wonderful source of Twitter information. Twitter has become quite a social media tool, hasn't it? I recently wrote a blog about Twitter on the internet, What the Tweet?. When you get a chance, please stop by and read it. I would appreciate any comments you have to offer on OceanZealot's Ramblings

Re: http://venturebeat.com/2009/04/16/twitpub-aims-to-bring-marketplace-to-twitter/

But the question remains, what is the value if free services on the same topic are already available?

Re: http://venturebeat.com/2009/04/16/twitpub-aims-to-bring-marketplace-to-twitter/

I think it is still rather early days for twitpub. I'm guessing there is a really niche market for content providers to provide time-sensitive and insider information that might be of use. Stock tips or sports betting tips might be of value to someone if the content provider could prove its worth to the consumers. Or celebrities might want to capitalize on their popularity by making their twitter updates private and charging people to follow their tweets so as to raise fund for charity.
