Thank you, Matt. All the information contributes to the fact that start-ups need to search for solutions and frameworks that help them bootstrap their businesses. Good for us :-)

Not all startups can bootstrap. In fact, if a company can generate revenue today, by definition they are solving a current problem in an existing market which is not what VCs are looking for. In fact, such a company should not even bother talking to VCs. Look for other funding!

    Interesting article.

There is no surprise that VC funding has gone down since years prior. That obviously has to do with the economic situation that we are currently in. Even "Forbes 2009 Riches People" article shows that high multi-millionares (and billionaires) are losing millions by the minute. Although this is the situation among the economy, there are still ways to get VC funding (although it may not be that easy..)
I would like to leave you with a valuable resource- http://www.fundingpost.com. FundingPost is holding a technology specific VC conference, in NYC, on November 12. We refer to this conference as the "Perfect Venture Capital Conference" because it's a early stage technology companies' ideal situation. We have over 50 investors signed up and only 20 technology companies with be attending! http://www.fundingpost.com/PVC/index.asp

If you are not technology specific- then we do have other events on the map! You can also download our iPhone app to check out our partner events in your area. http://www.fundingpost.com/iphone

Good luck to everyone looking for funding. It's a tough marketing, but we have many successful funding stories regardless!
