See a review of Like.com vs. Google's visual rank (soon to come) here.... http://gothamtechminute.blogspot.com/2008/04/go...

Matt - thanks btw - I urge you to please find where I said Like.com doesn't purchase paid traffic. We do, we just are able to use our visual search to do it more profitably than others ... such as the Likesense product we showed you.

    Munjal,

Thanks, I should have been clearer. I've updated. The question is clearly about degree.

    Matt,

Like.com is nothing but a arbitrage play like nexttag, shopping.com, business.com etc . . . dont eat up the hype diggdeeper. . .

ask them about their repeat visitor %, repeat visit rate, average days between repeat visits, average time on site, repeat visits per user, pageview per user, etc . . . all the metrics that points to them scaling even if they dont buy any traffic . . . I think you'll be very surprised.

Its been 4 weeks...no announcement? i smell riya generated false rumors (would another shopping comparison website with naive image search be worth 30-40 million $?), a dozen google scientists can code up this kind of a thing in three weeks.

If the rumor were indeed true, i would be very surprised.
